Are you struggling with how to create a life of purpose while
|
I am here to support you through the individual and systems-level challenges you are facing, in this era of late-stage capitalism. Together we can deepen your connection to yourself, build your capacity for fulfilling relationships with others, and create supports for navigating complex and oppressive systems. I specialize in how individual mental health issues intersect with entrenched social injustice, such as white supremacy, climate change, patriarchy, ableism, and capitalism. I have extensive practice working with adolescents (16+) and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD and other neurodivergence, chronic and invisible illnesses (including long-COVID), substance use, and interpersonal and systemic trauma. I also specialize in supporting clinicians, social workers, and activists, who are looking for their own therapy. I have extensive experience with vicarious trauma, burnout, moral injury, and the effects of workplace trauma. This work is grounded in my years of multiracial social justice organizing and nonprofit leadership. My work centers intersectional identity, including race, class, gender, and sexual orientation. I am committed to working with folks who are often marginalized within the mental health system, including trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive folks, BIPOC, and queer people. I also welcome clients with dominant culture identities, such as white people and cishet men, who want to unlearn internalized supremacy and build a just world. |
I utilize a mix of approaches, including somatic (body-based), mindfulness, and deep exploration to support people's practice of healing and aliveness.
About Working Together
All of my fees are based on a structured sliding scale that considers income, resources, and obligations.
This approach is based on the idea of "from each according to their means, to each according to their needs." It allows me work with a broad range of people in an equitable way.
Because I am an out of network therapist, you may also be eligible for reimbursement for some portion of my fees. I can help you determine what your coverage entitles you to.
As of 2020, all of my services, including therapy, are offered virtually. For remote therapy ("teletherapy"), I utilize a fully encrypted HIPAA-compliant video platform for sessions. I do not provide any in-person services at this time, and I center disability justice and COVID-conscious practices in my work and personal life.
Please note that I am only licensed to work with patients based in New York.
For a list of other practitioners that I recommend in New York, check out my therapy resource list here.

Approach & BackgroundMy style as a therapist is warm and challenging, compassionate and direct. My practice interweaves a background in contemplative psychology, somatic mindfulness practice, and nearly two decades of social justice work. Healing as individuals requires recognition of the trauma of structural oppression and dominance. With this in mind, I center anti-racist/anti-oppressive, LGBTQAI+-affirming, disability justice, and intersectional feminist values in all of my work. As an LCSW, I am licensed to provide a range of mental health services, including psychotherapy, counseling, treatment, mental health assessments, and diagnosis of mental health issues. I am not licensed to prescribe medication (only psychiatrists and doctors can do this), but I can make referrals for medication-related treatment as needed. My pronouns are she/her. |
